The Business Ombudsman Council is looking for candidates for the position of Inspector (Lawyer)

Who we are:

The Business Ombudsman Council is an international technical assistance project implemented with the financial support of the EBRD. We consider business complaints against authorities of all levels and participate in the search and implementation of systemic solutions to improve the business climate. Basic requirements:

• Higher legal education;
• High ethical and professional standards;
• At least 5 years of experience in at least one of the following areas: tax law, customs law, administrative law, criminal procedure law;
• Experience in protecting the interests of business entities in the pre-trial appeal of decisions of state bodies and/or in court;
• Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal, commercial and financial information;
• Significant experience in preparing legal documents (legal opinions, complaints, claims, procedural documents, etc.);
• Ability to independently manage one’s own workload, delegate tasks and provide constructive feedback;
• Good communication and teamwork skills;
• Fluency in Ukrainian (oral and written);
• English language proficiency at level C1–C2;
• The following will be considered an advantage: experience working in international law and consulting firms, experience in project management in legal consulting, experience in interacting with RBO stakeholders.

Main job responsibilities:

• Assessment and consideration of individual business complaints about violations of their rights by government officials;
• Analysis of laws, by-laws, case law, etc.;
• Analysis of documentation provided by complainants;
• Preparation of letters, legal opinions, reports;
• Interaction with complainants and state and local government bodies in the context of complaint handling;
• Participation in the administrative appeal procedure and working groups with government agencies;
• Preparation of system reports and reports based on the results of own investigations.
