What awaits you in this role: You will work at the intersection of law, energy and government regulation, joining projects that affect the development of the energy market of Ukraine. The focus is on research and analysis of legislation, preparation of legal opinions, memoranda and reports, development of draft laws and by-laws, as well as support for legislative reforms. You will work with Ukrainian and European regulations, analyze complex regulatory issues, and seek legal solutions to real challenges in the energy sector. Responsibilities:

  • Research and consulting on legal issues related to electricity market regulation and climate policy. If necessary, involvement in related analytical and advisory projects in the energy, climate and other areas
  • Preparation of legal reports, memoranda, legal opinions
  • Legal support for reforms on electricity market regulation and climate policy
  • Development of draft laws and subordinate regulations in the relevant subject area, in particular regarding the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the EU acquis communautaire
  • Checking and coordinating the work of junior lawyers

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in an international or leading Ukrainian law firm, or Big 4 company, or energy sector companies/organizations, NGOs/consultancies/projects specializing in legislation in areas relevant to this position
  • English language proficiency level — B2 and above
  • In-depth knowledge of office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of civil, corporate and commercial law, legislation in the field of electricity market regulation and climate sustainable development
  • Experience in preparing consultations, analytical materials and/or presentations in these areas
  • Competitive advantages will be:
