Junior/Middle IP Lawyer at BrandR / Polikarpov Law Firm
Polikarpov Law Firm is looking for an intellectual property lawyer to work with BrandR, a separate project of our team.
BrandR works with small and medium-sized businesses and helps clients with the registration and maintenance of trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs and work with related contracts. The idea of the project is to provide businesses with a clear service, a transparent process and high-quality legal support from a team that works professionally in IP.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a strong junior or middle-level.
It is important for us that the person already has practical experience in the field of IP: understands how applications are submitted, how searches are conducted, how registries work, how to explain search results and risks to the client, as well as how to support the registration process after submitting the application.
The level of compensation is discussed individually and depends on the experience, independence, and scope of tasks that the candidate can complete.
What will need to be done?
— conduct trademark searches in Ukraine, the EU, the USA, the UK and other jurisdictions;
— analyze search results and prepare brief conclusions for clients;
— prepare and file trademark applications;
— to accompany the registration of copyright, including in cases where the applicant is a legal entity and it is necessary to confirm the ownership of property rights through contracts, transfer of rights or other documents confirming the chain of ownership;
— if you have experience, work with industrial designs;
— prepare responses to requests, preliminary refusals and other documents within the framework of registration procedures;
— communicate with clients on legal matters when it is necessary to explain search results, risks, or further actions;
— interact with the team, sales specialist, and foreign attorneys.
What is important?
— experience working with trademarks and/or copyright;
— understanding the procedures for registering IP objects in Ukraine and abroad;
— experience working with international registers;
— independence in work;
— normal English for correspondence, working with registers and documents.
It will be a plus
— experience working with EUIPO, WIPO, USPTO, UKIPO, TMview and other registers;
— experience in preparing responses to previous refusals;
— experience working with contracts in the field of IP rights and related industries;
— experience or interest in legal tech and automation of IP processes.
