Role Description The Senior Legal Counsel is a full-time, semi-hybrid role based in Kyiv. This role is responsible for providing strategic legal support across the company’s green infrastructure and energy projects, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial, project finance, and construction contracts. The Senior Legal Counsel will advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, and actively manage legal issues related to project development, operations, and asset management. Day-to-day tasks include preparing legal documents, coordinating external counsel where needed, supporting transactions and tenders, and ensuring that company policies and procedures align with applicable laws and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with project, finance, engineering, and management teams to enable business growth while maintaining strong legal safeguards.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Law, with proven experience handling complex Legal Issues in a corporate or energy/infrastructure environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Contract Negotiation for commercial, project, and construction agreements.
  • Advanced skills in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, policies, and corporate documentation.
  • Ability to provide clear, pragmatic Legal Advice to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • University degree in Law; admission to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or project finance is an advantage.
  • Experience in regulatory bodies such as NUERC or state energy companies such as Ukrenergo is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Ukrainian and English languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup in Kyiv, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
